Up: [[Life]] Created: 2022-06-21 *I’m happy to be with you, but I don’t NEED you in order to be happy.* I’ve only heard the phrasing ‘one-in-herself’ in [[Hestia’s Mythology]] and that of her nieces, Athena and Artemis. But although the expression sounds antiquated, the experience is very much a modern day reality. It has been my reality for my lifetime. A woman who is one-in-herself is a woman who doesn’t marry but, more importantly, she belongs to herself and doesn’t need a partner in order to feel complete. I see one-in-herself as different from a woman who is aggressively single because of a bad experience with a man. While both she and Hestia are single women, Hestia’s one-in-herself quality is calm, tranquil, grounded; less of an aggressive reaction, and more of a calm choice made by a grounded and balanced woman. One in herself is an important concept to me because it’s about being self-possessed. It’s about reclaiming ownership of my self and my body by working to become more embodied.
