The Fool is off to the side in this image because travel through the Majors is considered the Fool’s Journey, a progression from an optimistic unconsciousness through to the maturity and integration of the World card. It is the totality of our psychological development through life. However, it’s important to realize that this progression is cyclical rather than linear. We jump all over the place when we randomly pull cards, just as we do in life! Each card in the Majors represents a strong, archetypal energy.
