I’ve figured out what that continuum looks like for me and I’ve realized that I’m at the midpoint of more efficiently doing what I used to do, and going from there to notemaking. But, and this is exciting, I’m getting tastes of full-on notemaking and it makes my brain feel creative and happy so I’m going to want to be doing a lot more of that. _________ I’ve been thinking a lot about notetaking and notemaking lately. - **Modifying what I’ve always done is a midpoint action that’s working.** - I have managed to make subtle shifts by notetaking in my vault, compiling them all in one place and then notemaking from there. It does work. It’s comfortable for me. It’s the way I’ve always done it, just with the added advantage of being able to drop notetaking bits into easily identifiable and easy to find places in my vault. - **Reading then closing the book and notemaking is a good step.** - I also, however, am doing a better job of notemaking from the get go. Just recently. I find it works for me to read a chunk of text, close it up and make my note. I still go back and recheck to see if I missed something important, but doing it this way does mean I do far less minor tweaking. - **I have a goal of creative pleasure in notemaking.** - I want to get to a point where my notemaking is a creative pleasure. I’m not there yet, but I will be. I love the feeling when I’m notemaking and expressing something that is true for me.
