Up: [[Spirituality]] Created: 2024-11-01 It’s being able to connect with an archetype that makes [[Suffering]] meaningful and therefore tolerable. The archetype can be God, a goddess or, for the non-religious person in depth therapy, it can be the analyst. What matters is being grounded in something or someone that is larger than one’s own ego. When an archetype is recognized, you understand that you aren’t alone in their suffering. If, for example, the archetype is the Christian God, there’s recognition that God suffered, died, then rose again. [[Rituals]] associated with the archetype add a further layer of protection by providing a bit of distance from the suffering and by reinforcing the overall idea that sacrificing the old will lead to the birth of the new.
