She looks deep in thought as the hall of doors presents her with different options. The options are unknown, but each requires that she give up a good portion of the imagination and freedom of her childhood. The zebra is trying to convince her to return to the forest to her play. The greenery on the bottom of her dress shows that she has been at home there. It may be that the zebra doesn't exist but he does to the little girl. The angel is waiting for a decision and getting a bit bored and impatient that it is taking so long, but the girl knows that once the decision is made there is no turning back.
