Up: [[Tarot]] Created: 2022-02-23 The changes I’m making in how I work with tarot are significant and already having quite the impact. By working on tarot first thing in the morning and intuitively, I am finding both that I am going much deeper into personalization of the card and its relationship to me, and it is giving me thoughts, reflections and actions that are staying with me, informing my day and sometimes my art. Working differently on meanings has also been helpful. Last night I reviewed the many descriptors I had already typed some weeks or months earlier and sorted what I wanted under my various headings. Adding in a page for metaphors was hugely helpful. I’ve noticed that Joanne often speaks of a card’s meaning in terms of metaphor and I can see why. [[Metaphor Has a Transforming Function]] and it stays in mind quite easily, at least compared to paragraphs of text. Once I’d done all of the descriptors I’d already captured, it was quite easy to review the rest of my resources and add in anything that was missing. So I finished my meanings work in one more night where normally it would have required at least two.
