Integrity is the entire. It comes from the same Latin root as integrate and integration meaning to combine everything into one harmonious whole.
Integrity is related to [[The Self]] in Jungian psychology because the Self is also the totality.
According to the book *Integrity in Depth* by John Beebe, the Chinese symbol *te* translates as integrity. It consists of an eye, a heart, and the sign for movement or behaviour. For integrity, the eye vision, both inner and outer) must be in harmony with the heart (feelings) and with the person’s actions in order to be integrity-full.
We discover integrity when we are feeling its absence; when it is in danger of being compromised. It is integrity when you’re feeling an anxious uneasiness or uncertainty. And it is integrity when you face down and integrate the [[Shadow]] quality that led to that unease.
