A boundary is a dividing line marking the limits of an area.
There are both physical and psychological boundaries. They are often one and the same.
Physical boundary — the thresholds at the entrances to any church, synagogue, temple or, for that matter, any home. These are physical boundaries that let you know you’re in a different space.
Reified boundary — the boundary between two countries. This kind of boundary is both made up and real.
Structural boundary — for example, fire doors
Temporal boundary — for example, not being able to get a driver’s license until a certain age
Inner boundary — Healthy personal boundaries rely on clear [[values]].
Personal boundary — Our personal boundary typically matches the reach of our arms and our legs at full width. You can feel it reset when you get into an elevator and attempt to find a space that allows your peronal boundary to be maintained. When alone and/or out in nature, our boundaries tend to expand. Personal boundaries are responsive to our emotions, shifting constantly with what’s going on in both outer and inner environments.
Relational boundary — what we will and won’t accept with other people
