It has taken me a very long time to clue in that savouring always, always involves the body because we savour through our senses.
There are five Aristotlean senses, also known as Kindergarten senses. They are sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch.
There are also inner senses including:
- Proprioception — position of body or parts of body in space
- Interoception — sensations within the body such as hunger, thirst, butterflies
- [[Intuition]] — inner knowing, a gut feeling
William Blake tells us that *Body is that portion of Soul received by the five senses.*
That’s as good a reason as any for me to focus on savouring. It’s what will take me to conscious embodiment.
