Three things have been stopping me from devoting time every day to my body. All are problems that can be overcome. And yet all of them are also
my conventional way of doing things so part of the reason I haven’t overcome them is that they are solidly in comfort zone territory.
#### Problem 1 — I Prefer to Do What I’m Good At
I love intellectual and creative work. [[Love of Learning]] is one of my core values. [[Self-Expression]] is another. And now that I’ve discovered [Linking Your Thinking](https://www.linkingyourthinking.com/) I’m finding it really difficult to step away from what I love and am good at to spend time ‘in’ my body, whatever that means.
**Solution**: I do like spas. It might help if I treat body time as if I were at a high-end fancy retreat, say Canyon Ranch, pretending that I’ve paid huge money to go somewhere to do this work..
#### Problem 2 — I Come Too Late in the Day to Bodywork
Mornings are prime time for me. So I give them to intellectual and creative work. I don’t get around to bodywork until late in the day when I’m tired and time feels tight. So it means that lots/most of the time, I don’t get around it at all.
**Solution**: This one is easy to solve. The fact that I haven’t is tied to problem 1. If being and embodiment are important to me, if I’m going to prioritize them, I have to live that by putting them in the best possible time for their success. For me that is in the morning.
#### Problem 3 — Not Knowing What to Do in the Time
It feels as if all of the information is trapped in books and courses that I haven’t done. Ideas don’t come easily to mind.
**Solution**: I solved this one, and by extension the other two, in January of 2026. I wrote [[Embodiment - Ground Curriculum]] so I have a compiled selection of actions to take according to need or desire. And I set up [[Devotion Elaborated]] so that I’m giving myself permission to just do a bit each day rather than thinking I have to devote hours.
