Up: [[Zen Camera]] Created: 2023-09-12 I’m moving into stillness much, much more often than in the past and staying there longer when I do. I can’t say how much that is delighting me. And after I’ve been still, I’m moved to pick up my camera and receive the image that has captivated me. That has been two things these last couple of weeks. The sky at my favourite spot down by the river on the very hot early mornings. #Photo ![[RiverWalk Sky.webp|500]] And the gorgeous cauldron of fire at a friend’s place on our last full moon night. #Photo ![[Cauldron and Full Moon.webp|400]] #Photo ![[Cauldron of fire.webp|400]] These photos, while not technically exciting, have meaning to me, representing aspects of my identity that I didn’t know existed. I’ve always loved water and sky but didn’t know I could ever just BE in it and feel connected through all of my [[senses]], not just sight. And the cauldron of fire? There’s a woman in town, Sherry, who has been nice to me since I got here. She owns a store called Olde Magick and she is a witch. This is NOT an identification that I’m comfortable taking on, even after reading as much as I can to rid myself of the Disney, Hallowe’en and cartoon versions of witches. But Sherry invited me, as one of only five people, to join her in acknowledging each month’s full moon. I’ve been doing that now for over a year and am surprised at how peaceful and supportive the practice has been. We all bring food, sit around and chat and then, at some point, whoever is hosting the evening will have us stand and will just lead us through a short appreciation of the meaning of that night’s particular moon in various cultures and how we can release what no longer serves us.
