Course: Image or Art? with Nora Swan-Foster for Washington Jung

[Nora Swan-Foster](https://swanfoster.com) is both a Jungian analyst and an art therapist.
- Feeling lost is a good sign that you’re going somewhere new.
- There is no right path, just your path.
- Acknowledge the resistances, voices, fear, excitement. If you hear words, write them down. They are images. See [[Image ‘Defined’]].
- Think of this work as dancing or playing with the irrational.
- Stay close to the image and its multiplicity. Rumi's poem [Guest House](https://www.scottishpoetrylibrary.org.uk/poem/guest-house/) speaks directly to the multiplicity of the psyche.
- Allow the [[Image]] to become enlivened, to offer you what has remained unspeakable.
- Welcome accidents and mistakes. The images and the materials will help tell you what’s needed.
- Allow your inner voices to take on lines, shapes and colours outside of your mind/body.
- Allow the spontaneous autonomous energy of the unconscious to become known to you. Don't think too much about it.
