I’ve often made Alice in Wonderland references such as “down the rabbit hole” but I’ve never actually read the book or books, *Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass*. I don’t even know if that is one or two. (It’s two.)
I’m going to keep a visual journal dedicated to this topic and also write notes in Obsidian for the 15 days of the LYT Gong.

I’ve read all of the various introductions in *The Annotated Alice* and all of *Alice in Wonderland*. I’d bought tickets to an outdoor performance of the play in my town, but decided to skip it. Partly because there had been thunderstorms just before the performance and I thought they’d carry on (which they did not), but mostly because after reading the book, I’m really not a fan. I much prefer the annotations in *The Annotated Alice* to the text itself. I am unable to embrace the chaotic madness of so many of the scenes and I anticipated that the production would be frenetic, which I did not and do not want.
I really enjoy immersing so I bought *Tarot in Wonderland* and am happy I’ve done that. It’s a good RWS clone, is on point for the stories and I’ve had the thrilling experience of several times having the card match the exact chapter I’m reading at that time.
I thought I’d be buying Alice cookbooks. There are several. But not for me. You’ve got to be either a serious fan or hosting a themed party to get into making *Alice in Wonderland* food.
I’d come across a Jungian article about the White Rabbit and read that. It was decidedly underwhelming.
I did make daily notes on my reading when participating in the August Gong. And, most significantly, I made an [[Alice in Wonderland Illustrated Journal]] and am pleased with that accomplishment.

I’ve taken a break from all things Alice, a break that will continue for a while yet. But I do still intend to read and do creative notebook spreads about *Through the Looking Glass* and I am going to read *The Original Alice*. I decided not to read the *Complete Works of Lewis Carroll* and have returned it to the used bookstore for them to sell to someone else. I **might** still explore surrealism, but I’m not sure. It’s really not an art form that appeals to me.
