What is your emotion in the dream? How are you feeling as the dream ego, the I? This is one of the first questions to ask yourself when working with a dream.
One of the ways in which dreams heal is to bring emotions into consciousness and help us stay balanced.
For example, if I'm having difficulty feeling grief in my waking life, I might feel it for the dog that dies in my dream.
Or if I’m feeling happy about soaring off the cliff and plunging to my death in the dream when I should be feeling terrified, dream maker is showing me that I’m deceiving myself in some way.
Look to see if your emotion changes over the course of the dream and, if so, how.
