Up: [[Expressive Art]] Created: 2026-02-09 - Make a continuous line drawing of an object. Add watercolour or gouache. Leave the wonkiness alone. - Write nonsense words in haphazard ways. Identify gestures that please you, and repeat them over and over. As you fall into the rhythm of the movement, amplify it and you’ll find the expressions start to look more like artistic gestures than handwriting. (Shaun McNiff) - Draw around something to make a circle. Put a dot in the centre and then allow my hand to travel around the circle, spiralling or not spiralling, until it finds its way to the edges of the circle and maybe even outside the circle. Write some reflections about the process. (Nora Swan-Foster) - Make a circle and divide it into quadrants. Fill each quadrant in different ways until each quadrant has its own lines, shapes and colours. Are there any words for each quadrant? (Nora Swan-Foster) - [[Scribble Projective]] - Draw a box on the page. Then, with a pencil crayon in each hand, make loose, flowing doodles on the rest of the page. Find two images in the doodles and highlight them. Then write a haiku about the doodles (5/7/5 syllables) in the box. (Jenafer Joy)
