Up: [[Illustrated Journals]] Created: 2024-04-24 Updated: 2024-04-25 I like Script and I like Shadow on the letters. I especially want shadow on the first letter of a heading. ### To Make Shadows on Letters Helpful information from a guy named [R K Sanchez](https://www.lettering-daily.com/lettering-shadow/). - I decide where the light source is (I've chosen the left) and put the shadows on the other side (the right). - If the light source is above the letters, the shadow is on the bottom. - It can vary with different projects but within a project, be consistent. I do not like Bubble letters. I do like faux-calligraphy and can do that with either brush pens or watercolour paints and brushes. I will use a 6" ruler to keep my major heads a consistent size. I'll print blocks of text, putting letters closer together and flourishing letters where possible. ### Practice I spent a couple of hours reading blog posts, printing out worksheets, and practising with [Lettering Daily]([https://www.lettering-daily.com](https://www.lettering-daily.com/). ![[Hand Lettering 2.webp|500]] ![[Hand Lettering 1.webp|500]]
