Up: [[Efforts that Interest Me]] Related: [[Myth-Making]] Created: 2022-12-16 I would like to create, in paint or maybe as a diorama, the scene where Lucy and the boys first go through the back of the wardrobe into Narnia. It’s such a peaceful scene. I’ve just clued in that it is reminiscent of looking up into the winter sky at the trees above me (see my art in [[Earliest Memories]]). In Narnia, it’s looking into a space where the snow is softly falling on an already snow covered opening in a forest. In my imagination, there is no wind and the air is almost warm. There’s a stillness to the space, a warm, enveloping stillness, not a threatening one at all. The trees are alive, actively leaning in to be part of the moment, listening like warm and loving aunties. The iconic lamppost is lit, and there’s also a soft moon so that the snow sparkles as it falls, then creates a cozy blanket on the ground that further envelops the whole scene and all of its characters. Sounds are the pregnant, expectant joyful silence; the faun’s hooves as it glides through the forest, and the badger’s little snuffling noise and harrumphing. #Senses
