A light blue, a very light blue, a dark blue. A light greenish-blue, a mid-value greenish-blue, a dark greenish-blue. Every colour also has a value. Yellows have a high (lighter) value, blues and dark reds a low (darker) value. ### Value is Important Without variations in value, a painting will look flat. Value is needed to convey mood and depth.
